  • Videos may be created using any recording technology available to you: handheld video cameras, webcams, mobile phones, etc.
  • Feel free to use your preferred video hosting service. We recommend creating an unlisted YouTube video. This means that a link to your video will not be visible in public search.

4. The completed and signed Intellectual Property Disclosure Statement; signed Intellectual Property Declaration Form, and signed letter from your school’s technology transfer office or Department of Energy licensing officer.

  • Completed documents will be uploaded with your online application.
  • We recommend contacting school’s technology transfer office or Department of Energy licensing officer as soon as possible to validate that your technology in question has been approved for inclusion in your Challenge application, and to obtain the required signed letter.

We understand that you may not have answers to all the application questions, but more complete applications tend to get better evaluations. The application will be scored by a subset of the competition’s reviewers. Please carefully review the evaluation criteria for information on evaluations and scoring.
