If you are a entrepreneur or university/college student interested in clean energy technologies and entrepreneurship, then this is the premier opportunity for you to pitch your idea.
Presented by the Missouri Energy Initiative, the 2013 Missouri Clean Energy Challenge is an energy business plan competition designed to provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to showcase their energy technology and business plans; receive university and industry support and feedback; gain exposure within the venture capital and funding community; and compete for cash prizes to support their technology and business plan.
Established by the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), the 2013 Missouri Clean Energy Challenge is part of the National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition designed to create a network of student-focused clean energy business competitions. The Missouri Clean Energy Challenge supports DOE’s strategy to establish broader innovation and commercialization efforts, and to build a nation-wide energy entrepreneurship ecosystem. DOE selected the Clean Energy Trust in Chicago, Ill. to administer the Midwest regional competition. The winner of the Ameren Clean Energy Innovation Award will receive a $10,000 state prize as will the winner of the Missouri Clean Energy Chalenge Student Award. Both will go on to compete for the $100,000 grand prize at the Midwest regional competition, in Chicago, Ill., and a place in the National competition in Washington, D.C.
